Welcome to Houseplant Assistant! 🌱

We are a team of 4 students from Simon Fraser University, working on this project for CMPT 276 - Introduction to Software Engineering. Our goal was to create something useful while learning about web development and API integration.

Why houseplants? Because we believe everyone deserves a bit of nature in their living space! Whether you're a first-time plant parent or an experienced grower, keeping track of plant care can be tricky.

Our app uses the Perenual Plant API for our database (we're using the free version, so some plants are unfortunately behind a paywall (╥﹏╥)). You can:

• Search for houseplants
• Set up watering reminders in Google Tasks
• Discover a new "Plant of the Day" every day

We hope this app helps make plant care a little easier and more enjoyable for everyone. Happy growing! 🌿
